Planning Institute of Australia (Victoria) Award Winners!

We are thrilled to announce that ICHEN’s Program Leader, Professor Ester Cerin, was part of a distinguished team of researchers that received the Planning Institute of Australia (Victoria) Award for Planning Excellence in the Planning Research category (2022). The award recognized the groundbreaking project ‘Benchmarking Healthy and Sustainable Cities Globally’.

This prestigious accolade was awarded to Billie Giles-Corti, Carl Higgs, and Jonathan Arundel (RMIT), Ester Cerin (ACU), and Melanie Lowe (University of Melbourne) on behalf of the Global Healthy and Sustainable City-Indicators Collaboration. Dr. Melanie Lowe proudly accepted the award at the ceremony on behalf of the entire team.

The project is now under consideration for the national PIA awards, to be announced early next year.
